WARREN, Ohio - The president of Warren City Council says another member of city council should consider resigning.

Bob Dean says Councilwoman Cheryl Saffold was cited by police Wednesday evening for speeding at 50 miles per hour in a 25 mile per hour zone on South Street.

She was also cited for having expired plates that were not registered to the vehicle she was driving.

Dean says that is irresponsible behavior for a member of council.

"You have a violation of a person who's doing twice the speed limit, who is now a two-time offender in less than six months, who's an elected official. She has to consider resigning her position as a city council member," Dean said.

Messages left 21 by News for Councilwoman Saffold for her response were not returned.
