A Youngstown woman was arrested after she allegedly struck a man with an SUV in a North Side parking lot on Thursday.

Police reports state officers were dispatched to the Save-A-Lot on Gypsy Lane because of a fight inside the store that moved to the parking lot.

Witnesses say a woman driving an SUV attempted to drive over a crowd, hitting one man.

A witness followed the SUV to a home on Crandall Avenue, where police say Ashley Sellars, 21, admitted she was the driver of the vehicle.

Sellars told police she drove through the crowd because she could not think of anything else to do.

Officers saw a silver SUV at the house missing a side mirror that matched one recovered from the parking lot.

Sellars was arrested for felonious assault and was later found to be driving under suspension. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Friday.

The man who was hit by the vehicle was transported to St. Elizabeth hospital.
