Muscle Connection H.S. Football Preview: Valley Christian Eagles

Posted: Updated:

The Valley Christian football program has a first of its kind in the area. The Eagles have co-head coaches in Jeff Hether and Jomont Ware and are banking on the duo to snap a two-year losing streak.

"We're actually two head coaches, but one mind. It's different. Maybe when people see that, when we do well here, maybe other teams will say this is a good idea, maybe we should do this," said Hether.

The Eagles will have their first chance to see if this concept works when they open the season against Campbell. They do have experience on their side with nine starters back on both sides of the ball.

"Jordan Dukes is one of them. He's going to be great this year. Jamynk Jackson is going to be outstanding this year, speed is one of the best in the league. We have big guys up front now, running backs all back. We have three of four wide receivers that are going to be outstanding this year. I think that's what is going to be exciting this year is the offense. We're going to be explosive passing. We're going to be different than what people have seen in the area," Hether said.

Valley Christian has only three wins over the last two seasons and is set on bringing back the winning spirit.

"We have to win. This team has not fully understood how to win. We got a taste of that last year. We have confidence back now. But now we have to keep rolling," Hether said.
