Kasich appoints replacement for retired Youngstown Municipal judge
The newest Youngstown Municipal judge has been appointed by Governor John Kasich.

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - The newest Youngstown Municipal judge has been appointed by Governor John Kasich.
Kasich announced Tuesday that attorney Renee DiSalvo of Youngstown will replace retired Judge Elizabeth Kobly.
Judge Kobly, who retired at the end of August, was first appointed to the bench by former Ohio Governor Bob Taft in 2000.
She was the first woman judge in the court.
Now her seat will be filled by another female- DiSalvo.
DiSalvo received her bachelor's degree from Youngstown State University and her law degree from the Akron University School of Law.
According to a release, she is currently a sole practitioner in civil prosecution, criminal defense, and private mediation.
DiSalvo is also a part-time adjunct for Youngstown State University where she teaches various criminal justice and women studies courses, in addition to peace officer training.
DiSalvo is a member of the Mahoning County Bar Association, the Executive Director for Meet Me At The Cross, Inc., and a board member for The Bair Foundation.
Judge DiSalvo will assume office on November 5, 2018, to complete the remainder of the unexpired term ending January 1, 2020, and must run in the November 2019 election to retain the seat for the full term commencing January 2, 2020.
