Theft, fraud trial of former Vienna official delayed

WARREN, Ohio - The trial of the former Vienna Township fiscal officer facing multiple felony charges for allegedly misappropriating over $116,000 in public funds, has been postponed.
According to the Trumbull County Common Pleas Court records, the trial of Linda McCullough has been reset from May 12 to June 16. The final pretrial is scheduled on June 4.
McCullough was initially indicted in November 2024 on charges including two counts of theft in office, four counts of tampering with records, and one count of telecommunications fraud. A superseding indictment in February 2025 added three more counts of record tampering, expanding the timeframe of the alleged illegal activity between August 6th, 2021, and March 21st, 2024.
Authorities allege McCullough, 55, used her position to illegally spend $116,370.82 in township funds on personal expenses. The expenses reportedly included payments to her personal credit card for charges at various businesses, as detailed in the initial indictment. The superseding indictment also added specific dates for the alleged record tampering incidents.
The missing funds contributed to a fiscal emergency declared in Vienna Township by the Ohio Auditor's Office in July 2024, leading to difficult decisions such as layoffs within the township's police and fire departments.
