VIENNA, Ohio- Valley residents will have a new vacation option soon.

Allegiant Airlines announced Wednesday that it will begin offering flights to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

The airline already offers service to Orlando, Florida.

In a statement, Congressman Tim Ryan said the expansion is the result of teamwork among officials.

"Regional cooperation and the forward-thinking leadership of current and past chairmen of the Western Reserve Port Authority, Scott Lynn and John Masternick, have led to the expansion of Allegiant Air's investment in the Mahoning Valley," Ryan said.

He called it another example of positive local economic news.
