HUDSON, Ohio- The Summit county medical examiner has ruled that an Austintown man who was killed at a construction site in Hudson died of blunt force trauma to the neck and torso.

James Wetzl, 56, an employee of A. Bagnoli and Sons Grading and Excavating out of Boardman, was killed when a wall of mud and clay collapsed on top of the area he was working at around 11 a.m. on Wednesday.

His death has been ruled an accident.

Another man, Albert Bagnoli, Jr. of Youngstown, was trapped under ten feet of mud.

Crews worked for seven hours to rescue him.

He is in Akron Hospital, where he is listed in serious condition.

Chief Bob Carter of the Hudson fire department said Bagnoli is lucky to be alive.

"He did not have any visible injuries. He was very fortunate, because he was trapped under quite a bit of dirt. It was kind of a lean-to type fall, so there was air and he was not directly covered, otherwise he wouldn't have survived," Carter said.

The men were working to add sewer lines near an area where new houses will be built.

The accident is being investigated by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
