SALEM, Ohio - A company that owns several restaurant franchises has purchased Salem's former Timberlanes.

Unique Ventures of Pennsylvania bought the old restaurant and inn at sheriff's auction on Tuesday for more than 673-thousand dollars.

The buyer operates several Perkins, Damons and Burger King Restaurants, but has not announced plans for the Salem property.

After fifty years in business, financial difficulties forced Timberlanes to close in 2009.
