LORDSTOWN, Ohio - UAW local 1714, in Lordstown, is spearheading the effort to repeal Ohio's collective bargaining bill for public employees.

The union hall will host training seminars for people who will circulate petitions against Senate Bill 5.

Opponents need 231 thousand valid signatures to get the measure on the November ballot. The training is to make sure all the signatures collected aren't thrown out. "I think we need at least double. There are 350 thousand public employees in the state of Ohio, so getting the signatures I don't think will be a big issue. I believe the UAW will get 50- thousand signatures," said Dave Green, President UAW Local 1714.

Green says the petitioners will collect signatures outside polling places during the May primary.
