More than two hundred Mahoning and Trumbull County residents will be trained for free to become nurses aids.

The Red Cross is doing the training thanks to a nearly one million dollar grant from the Department of Health.

Trumbull County's first class of 16 graduates spent the day talking to potential employers.

The program manager Melissa Johnson-Beadle says most, if not all of these students will find a job. "The Department of Labor statistics show that there's a 48% increase in the need for STNA's including home health care, nursing homes, and hospitals between now and 2014."

To be eligible for the program, you must be a Mahoning or Trumbull County resident and on some form of public assistance.
