YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - The Youngstown Metropolitan Housing Authority is hoping to have one of its run down abandoned properties torn down by the end of the year.

The Idora Neighborhood Association has been trying to get a building on St. Louis Street torn down for months. The association is frustrated by how long it's taking.

YMHA says they've run into some roadblocks trying to get the structure demolished. But they're putting it out for bid again and hope to have it removed by Christmas. "we are just as anxious to get this down or probably more so than the idora neighborhood because we do not condone blight in any way," said Carmelita Douglas, YMHA Interim Executive Director.

The neighborhood association is hoping this will be the end of their struggle with the property.
