Valley businessman has another horse in the Kentucky Derby

YOUNGSTOWN, OHio - For the second straight year, Youngstown Phantoms owner Bruce Zoldan will have a horse in the most legendary race in all of sport. On Saturday, Went the Day Well took first place at the Grade III Vinery Racing Spiral Stakes at Turfway Park to qualify for the Kentucky Derby.
Went the Day Well is owned by Team Valor, of which Zoldan is a partner. The bay colt followed in the of hoof prints of another Team Valor horse, Animal Kingdom, who's victory last year at the Spiral Stakes helped propel him to a Kentucky Derby win six weeks later at the hallowed Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky.
"He won the race in magnificent form," Zoldan said. "We are very excited about qualifying for the Kentucky Derby for the second straight year and look forward to another strong showing in the upcoming weeks."
Went the Day Well took first place in the 12-horse field at the Spiral Stakes. He is trained by Graham Motion, who also trained Animal Kingdom last year.
