STRUTHERS, Ohio - Tonight the Creekside Fitness 16Y team will be recognized at the opening ceremonies of the NABF Senior World Series at Cene Park in Struthers at 7:30 p.m.

Creekside Fitness won the 2012 National Amateur Baseball Federation Junior Division World Series in Northville, Michigan this past weekend. 

Twelve teams qualified for the World Series tournament.  The teams traveled from New York, Texas, Michigan, Ohio, Illinois and Canada.  Creekside Fitness qualified for the tournament after winning the Little B Division Championship in Struthers.  

Creekside had a record of 5-1 in the tournament and was led by an unstoppable pitching team.  The total ERA for Creekside's pitching during the tournament was .7.  Three of the pitchers had one hitters including Davey Lemasters, Kane Durkin and Trent Collins. 

In the championship game, Creekside met up with the Sayo Grays from Brooklyn, New York.  The same team they had lost to earlier in the tournament.  The game went into the seventh inning tied.  The Grays scored one in the top of the seventh.  In the bottom of the seventh, with two outs,  Scott Pierce would get a hit to drive in the tying run.  That would be followed by a single from Zack Miller to score the winning run.  Zack Miller received the MVP award for the tournament.

The team roster includes:  Ted Williams, Ray Scala, Christian Lowery, Zack Thorpe, Billy Goodall, Mark Passarello, Vernon Cesta, Kiernan Kiske, Ryan Miller,  David Lemasters, Steve Dayton, Kane Durkin, Ricky Svetlak, Ryan Megyesi, Scott Pierce, Trent Collins, Zack Miller, Mark Graziani and Ryan Burkert.  The team is coached by Bob Boughner and Rob Fuller.
