BOARDMAN, Ohio - The Ice Zone, which closed in May due to financial difficulties, will reopen next week with a new business model.

In a press release, the company, which first opened its doors in 1997, stated that it will "operate primarily on an ice rental basis."

Representatives said that they will still resume public activities like skating, pick-up hockey and skate rentals, but will now allow rental access to its Olympic Ice sheet. Between September through March of next year, rentals can be booked for $325 an hour; blocks of 50 hours or more can be booked at a reduced rate.

However, the company's NHL sized ice sheet will remain suspended.

The Ice Zone is set to reopen on August 21.
