MERCER, PA. - It's sentencing day for a Mercer County man, accused of robbing, shooting and killing a popular Farrell business owner.

20-year-old, Joshua Lee Stewart was sentenced to spend the rest of his life in prison for the December 30th, 2011 murder of William Basilone, Jr.

A jury found Stewart guilty of first and second degree murder, as well as two counts each of robbery and conspiracy.

Stewart was convicted of being the gunman who robbed Basilone's, a landmark restaurant and bar in Farrell, and then repeatedly shooting and killing the owner.

Mercer County Judge Christopher St. John tried to encourage Stewart to address the victim's family, the convicted killer refused. Telling the Judge at one point quote, "I don't see this bad guy I supposedly am. I'm not even claiming that I did it."

Judge St. John told Stewart, "Sadly I see little likelihood of rehab. No remorse, no sympathy, no responsibility for your actions."

The victim's family is disheartened, but not surprised that Stewart still refuses to take responsibility for the crime.

Beth Dulaney is the murder victim's sister, "I think our family was hoping he would show a little remorse. It was a little disappointing."

Stewart according to the Judge had only been off of juvenile probation for a few days when he shot and killed Basilone. ... And now Stewart also faces a federal charge related to another crime.

The victim's family told the convicted killer that while he'll go to jail and be forgotten, the man he murdered lives on because of the good he did in his lifetime.

"He was fun, he was happy and he would do anything for anybody," Dulaney said.

Marggie Burger was the long-time girlfriend of victim William Basilone, "He did a lot of good for the community and for all of us. He was our rock, he was the family's rock. Kind and compassionate and loved life and I miss him everyday."

Stewart is now headed to a state prison, and 19-year-old Devine Campbell, a second suspect in the crime will be tried at a later date for a murder that devastated a family and community.
