The Niles Residence Inn opened in May and the number of rooms booked has exceeded expectations.

"It's real contemporary, real homey, makes you feel like you're in a cool, clean environment," said Michele Janci, with the Residence Inn.

All 103 suites are designed to help guests feel like they are home while away from home. Each room features a kitchen, living room and space to get work done on the side.

The hotel is hoping to attract guests visiting at nearby hospitals, workers in the shale industry and business travelers.

Several checking in are here to stay weeks, even months at a time, while they work on re-tooling the production lines at the GM Lordstown plant.

"They're bringing in different people in from different parts of the country, in addition to what we have locally," said Dave Mangus, area director with TMI Hospitality.

The hotel will soon link directly to the mall, making it easy for guests to shop and dine without even stepping foot outside.

Construction of an attached banquet center is underway. Logistics have delayed construction, but the venue set to open in 2015, will accommodate anything from conferences and small conventions, to weddings and parties.

"It will be able to seat 1,000 people for dinner, there's nothing like that in the county and we're looking forward to getting it done," said Joe Bell, spokesperson for the Cafaro Company.
