Friends and family of the late Carmine Cassese, are hosting the second annual bocce tournament in his honor.

Carmine was the third generation owner of the MVR Restaurant, and long-time equipment manager for the YSU football team. He lost his battle with pancreatic cancer last year.

"I can tell you right now that my dad would be uncomfortable for anything that was in his name, so i feel bad whenever i put up a banner or something that has his name," said Carmine's Son Joe Cassese. "But I know this much, this is what he lived for he lived for the comradery, the community, people getting together."

Money raised goes towards a YSU scholarship in Carmine's name and pancreatic cancer research at the James Medical Center at Ohio State University.
