One week from Wednesday, the Hollywood Gaming Mahoning Valley Race Course will officially open.

It's free to park, free to get in and once inside, the racino will offer 850 video lottery terminals.

The director of marketing for Hollywood Gaming, Scott Frost, explained what kind of service customers can expect to see when visiting the racino.

"You'll have beverage service that will be coming around quite frequently, our VLTs, or video lottery terminal attendants, will be checking on you to make sure you are happy," Frost said.

You must be at least 21 to be on the gaming floor, and 18 or older to bet on the horse races. But all ages will be welcome inside the racing grandstand and Skybox restaurant.

"(It will) essentially be a sports bar on steroids, unlike no other that you will see. Very fine decor, great menu," Frost said of Skybox.

If that doesn't appeal to your taste buds there will be plenty of other dinning options, which include a coffee and pastry shop, a burger and sandwich-type restaurant, and an Italian cuisine restaurant that will serve pasta and pizza.

Customers can also cash in on a free rewards program where the more you play, the more points you earn.

"You can use those points for vacations, trips to Las Vegas, free play offers you'll get via e-mail, dinning offers, discounts to valet, etc," Frost said.

Customers can also look forward to November, when the one-mile thoroughbred racing track debuts.
