Niles man indicted in detective son's overdose death

NILES, Ohio - Joshua Robbins, 24, tragically died back on May 31st of a heroin overdose.
It took police five months to build the case, but this week charges were brought against the man who allegedly supplied the heroin that killed Robbins.
Now, authorities say that heroin was provided by Mark Thornsberry.
A Trumbull County Grand Jury has indicted Mark Thornsberry on four felony counts including: involuntary manslaughter, tampering with evidence, corrupting another with drugs by either administering and/or supplying the heroin and possession of heroin.
The father of two young children, Robbins was also the son of Niles Police Detective Jim Robbins, who spent a portion of his career ironically in the narcotics division, fighting to take deadly drugs like heroin off the streets.
Detective Robbins wants to reserve comment until the trial is complete, but thanked the two detectives who made the arrest in this case, saying he hopes in the end there will be closure.
This is one of a growing number of cases around the Valley where the person who authorities say provided the heroin will be prosecuted.
