LIBERTY TWP, Ohio -
The Liberty Police Department has received a new piece of equipment for the four-legged member of the force.
The department has received a ballistic vest for their canine officer Capo through a nationwide campaign on the crowd funding website Groupon Grassroots. The campaign provided vests for 163 canine law enforcement officers in 30 states.
The vests cost $950 and are made exclusively by Regency Police Supply in Massachusetts.
The group Vested Interests in K-9's, a charity group in Massachusetts, was the main force behind the campaign and donation.
Capo joined the Liberty Police Department in 2009 and serves as both a drug sniffing and tracking dog.
