GOSHEN TWP., Ohio - Two buildings in the West Branch Local School District were placed on temporary lockdown Wednesday while authorities conducted a safety sweep.

Goshen Police Lieutenant Nick Brent tells 21 News that two K-9 units from the Ohio State Highway Patrol sniffed around lockers and other areas of the high school and the middle school as classes got underway.

Police say that no contraband was found during the search.

Brent says that the department tries to conduct the routine sweep at least once a year as a measure to protect the students and staff.
