Hubbard Police are investigating a possible murder that happened early Saturday morning. 


Shortly before 3:30 a.m. police received a 911 call that a person was lying in the street near the Downtown Coffee Café on North Main Street. 

A female caller told 911 operators that there was a man lying in the street whom she almost hit with her car. 

Officers arrived to discover 26-year-old Cody Pitts lying on the ground of Orchard Ave. 

Police tell 21 News there is some evidence that Pitts suffered a gunshot wound, but that they are investigating several leads. 

Hubbard Police officials said the department will be looking at nearby surveillance video and contacting anyone whom Pitts may have spoken with before his death. 

The Trumbull County Coroner, Homicide Task Force, BCI Crime Lab Units, and Hubbard Police are investigating the incident. 

There is no indication yet on whether police have a suspect at this time.
