WARREN, Ohio - A 30 day suspension without pay is being appealed by a Trumbull County Sheriff's deputy.

Deputy Michael Geer is suspended over racist remarks posted on his Facebook page. 

Sheriff Thomas Altiere says a hearing officer issued the suspension, but says Geer is appealing through his attorney.

The Facebook post by Geer commented on the death of man in Baltimore while in police custody.

Geer has worked for the county sheriff's office for eleven years.
