Relentless rainfall proved too much for storm drains in communities around the Valley.

Widespread flooding was reported Monday night in cities like Warren, where flooding became so prevalent the fire department asked people to stay inside after many people were stranded in their cars.

Police said that Packard Park was severely flooded.

At the Eastwood Mall Complex, a car was became stranded in high water Monday afternoon. The Chuck E. Cheese in Niles had to temporarily close because of flooding.

Along Route 422 across from the  Eastwood Mall, water was knee deep at the Buckeye Mobile Home Park.

Water was up to the steps and doors of about a dozen mobile homes.

One man says he believes sewer drains were plugged with debris, causing water to back up into the street.

Workers from the Niles city sewage department were on the scene to check the drains.

Flooded roads were also reported in Girard as well.

In Mahoning County, police say that high water posed a hazard to traffic at Market Street and Western Reserve Road.

The National Weather service predicts minor flooding along the Mahoning River at Leavittsburg where the river is expected to reach 11 feet above flood stage at 11 a.m. Tuesday.

As of 11 p.m. Monday, the Mahoning River was 13 feet above flood stage in Youngstown.
