After six years, the Olive Street bridge that connects the village of McDonald to Niles is ready to reopen.

The bridge is set to open up to traffic August 1.

Federal funding and grant dollars paid for the entire project.

Having access to the bridge will make it easier for the village to share services with Niles and for commuters.

"Right now, everybody has to go out Belmont Avenue, if they're working in Warren and other parts of Trumbull County," Glenn Holmes said, McDonald Village mayor.

To celebrate the bridge opening, the village will host a parade and classic car show on August 1.
