Lawrence County man arrested for child abuse

UNION TWP., Lawrence Co., Pa. - A Lawrence County man turned himself into police after being accused of abusing his 3-month-old daughter.
The investigation of Kim Paul Sankey began back in May when he took the infant to the hospital with severe head injuries.
Police say child services contacted them on May 15th after suspecting child abuse. Sankey was the only one watching her when she suffered from a skull fracture and bruising to her face and legs.
Investigators determined the injuries were caused by blunt force trauma.
Sankey is facing charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, endangering the welfare of children and reckless endangerment.
He is being held in Lawrence County jail.
Sankey is schedule for a preliminary hearing on July 16.
