PNC closing bank branch in Campbell

CAMPBELL, Ohio - PNC Bank says it is closing a branch in Campbell because of what a bank spokesperson is calling changing consumer behaviors.
The branch at 403 Tenney Avenue closes its doors for the last time at 3 p.m. on Friday, October 30 according to Fred Solomon of PNC Corporate Communications.
Solomon says customer accounts will be transferred to the branch at 1000 Youngstown-Poland Road, which is a little less than two and a half miles away.
Solomon says that today, many customers prefer mobile, online and ATM banking.
More than half of PNC's customers now complete the majority of their banking transactions through non-teller channels. According to Solomon, that is better than a 15 percent increase in the proportion of customers banking largely electronically in just the last 12 months.
Solomon says that most customers have already been informed of the branch closure and do not need to take any action.
Customers with safe deposit boxes have been asked to transfer items from their boxes by end of the business day, October 23.
