Drug crackdown underway at Campbell's Kirwan Homes

CAMPBELL, Ohio - The Mahoning County Prosecutor’s office has announced a crackdown on drug trafficking in a Campbell neighborhood.
Prosecutor Paul Gains revealed on Wednesday that the FBI Violent Crimes Task Force began rounding up fifteen people allegedly running a drug trafficking organization at the Kirwin Homes housing development.
Gains says the suspects were secretly indicted earlier this month by a grand jury for several crimes, including trafficking in heroin, crack cocaine, trafficking in firearms, and engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity, and conspiracy.
Gains released the names of the suspects who have already been arrested by Wednesday afternoon.

The case was investigated by the Youngstown FBI’s Violent Crime Task Force, which is comprised of local law enforcement officers.
The lead investigator on the case, Sgt. Dave Smith from the Campbell Police Department.
The Kirwan Homes development is operated by the Youngstown Metropolitan Housing Authority.
