CANFIELD, Ohio - Students were evacuated from the  C.H. Campbell Elementary School in Canfield late Wednesday morning after fire broke out inside an air conditioning unit on the roof of the building.

Firefighters put out the flames after students were moved to Canfield High School's Athletic Atrium.

Children who were not picked up by their parents were bused from the High School to their homes during regular dismissal times.

Students unable to bring their lunches during the evacuation were offered water, cheese sticks and Chex Mix.

The health department inspected the school to make sure everything is safe when classes resume on Thursday.
