The annual half-price sale at the Cornersburg Dairy Queen has become a much-anticipated event for ice cream lovers.
People were lined up Friday waiting for the doors to open at noon.
The family owned business started half-price day 10 years ago as a thank you to its customers.
It's also a special day for the employees who get to split the profits. "We also let our employees keep all the proceeds for the day. so it's kind of up to them to make the day a success by making sure we don't run out of the most popular things," said owner Chrissey Smith.
During the seven hour long sale, they expected to sell more than 300 Dairy Queen cakes as well as more than 1,000 boxes of Dilly Bars, Buster Bars and DQ sandwiches.
Smith says regular customers look forward to the sale to stock their freezers.
