HERMITAGE, Pa. - The Hermitage man who police say fatally shot his wife then turned the gun on himself has now died.

Police told 21 News on Wednesday that they had received word that 51-year-old Edward Tremmel had died, presumably from the self-inflicted wound sustained at the couple’s Sample Road home on January 29.

On the night of the shootings, police said that they found the body of 44-year-old Cheryl Lynne Tremmel at the home.

Her husband, who was eventually charged with criminal homicide, had been hospitalized for a gunshot wound of the face since that night.

Police say children that live at the home were not there at the time of the shooting.
