BROOKFIELD TOWNSHIP, Ohio - A former student was arrested at Brookfield Middle School after he was drunkenly walking around the parking lot, according to police.
Police say principal Chris Fahndrich took 19-year-old Ryan Latimer, a 2015 Brookfield High School graduate, to his office where he was held until police arrived around 7:30 a.m. on Thursday.
Reports say Latimer, of Bedford Road, Masury, was covered in mud and very intoxicated.
Upon searching Latimer, police say they found a 6-inch knife in his coat pocket. Reports say the knife was in a homemade case.
Police arrested Latimer, but said he was able to slide his handcuffs off and became disruptive and loud.
Police say they were able to get Latimer into a cell safely, but that he started to hit the cell door with his hand. Reports say officers put Latimer in a leather transport belt to keep him from hurting himself.
Latimer is charged with criminal trespassing, possession of a weapon on school property and underage drinking.
