Syracuse still leads snowfall race in mildest of winters
Even with one of the mildest winters on record, Syracuse remains the snowiest big city in America.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) - Even with one of the mildest winters on record, Syracuse remains the snowiest big city in America.
The Salt City has seen 72.2 inches of snow this year. That's well under the norm of over 120 inches, but it's enough for Syracuse to occupy the top spot right now.
According to the latest results on the Golden Snow Globe website, Syracuse is finally ahead of Erie, Pennsylvania, which has had 67.5 inches.
The Snow Globe contest logs snowfall for U.S cities with populations of at least 100,000. This season's top 10 list also includes two other upstate New York cities - Buffalo and Rochester.
Tops overall in New York is the small town of Perrysburg, in Cattaraugus County, with over 138 inches.
