YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - The man who led local authorities on a two day manhunt is now behind bars.

Luis Cruz Ramos has been transferred to the Mahoning County Justice Center from St. Elizabeth Hospital where he had been since Friday afternoon when he was wounded by a member of the task force that had been looking for him since the previous morning.

The 30-year-old suspect has been booked into the jail on fugitive, aggravated menacing and weapon violations.

The pursuit of Cruz Ramos began early Thursday after he allegedly fled a traffic stop in Campbell.

During the chase, the van ran into Campbell police cruiser.

When the suspect was forced to abandon his van on I-680, he fired a shot into the windshield of a Youngstown Police cruiser. The officer was not injured.

Authorities say Cruze Ramos pulled out a gun when officers spotted him in a neighborhood early Friday.

A member of the task force shot Cruze Ramos in the leg before he was apprehended.

Cruz Ramos is wanted for the rape of a 14-year-old girl in Puerto Rico.

He could still face additional charges of felonious assault stemming from Thursday's chase, and will likely face even more charges from the city of Campbell.
