Police say a Columbus police officer was shot during an overnight standoff that began when officers tried to serve an arrest warrant.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Police say a Columbus police officer was shot during an overnight standoff that began when officers tried to serve an arrest warrant.
The officer was hospitalized following the early Saturday shooting in a northside neighborhood. His condition was not immediately available.
Columbus police spokesman Sgt. Rich Weiner said smoke and flames were seen from the residence after the shooting.
Multiple media reports say a suspect was taken from the house about 7:30 a.m.
