WARREN, Ohio - The time frame is tightening for a California-based company to move into the former Delphi Packard electric plant in Warren.

Valley native Christopher Alan announced plans late last year to try and bring his business Auto parkit to the city.

While he says he's making progress at the local level, meeting state standards is taking longer than expected.

Alan says he's waiting on the state to conduct an asbestos abatement and for environmental issues to be tackled.

So far, Auto parkit has hired six engineers, two administrators and two workers in the plant. Alan has plans to hire more, but admits he does have a deadline to get this project underway.

The company makes a hydraulic system that mechanically stores vehicles to maximize space.

The promise last fall was that his business could bring up to 300 jobs to Warren. If Warren becomes Auto parkit's home base, Alan says the suppliers could follow.
