WASHINGTON - The air carrier that has repeatedly had to delay the planned start of daily flights between Youngstown and Chicago hope they have finally given federal regulators what they want.

Lawyers for Aerodynamics Incorporated on Thursday, submitted a response to the Department of Transporation's Air Carrier Fitness Division's request to prove that it has the financial wherewithal to provide the air service.

Earlier this month, Air Carrier Fitness Division Analyst Catherine O'Toole informed ADI that it had not provided adequate information needed for final approval of a Certificate of Convenience and Necessity, which is needed to begin regular, daily service between Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport and Chicago O'Hare International Airport.

O'Toole wrote at the time that updated financial information does not support ADI's ability to fund the proposed scheduled operations.

Documents submitted to the transportation department on Thursday include a letter from ADI owner John Beardsley stating that his investment company, Fountain Village Investments, is committed to providing the $905,000 the Department of Transportation says is needed to meet its financial fitness test.

Another letter from Riverview Community Bank of Portland, Oregon states that Fountain Village Investments has a checking account with a balance in excess of $1,000,000.

ADI also submitted requested documentation aimed at proving that it has liability insurance covering its aircraft, as well as proof of citizenship from ADI Armando Cardenas, ADI's new Director of Safety, Security and Regulatory Compliance.

In March, Youngstown Warren Airport officials announced that ADI hoped to begin the round trip flights in mid to late May.

The start date was pushed back until June 13 when ADI said that the Department of Transportation had not given final approval of the flight schedule.

Last week, ADI announced that the new target start date has been delayed until July 1.

They have not announced a new date for when they expect tickets to go on sale.

ADI is asking the transportation department to immediately grant it a Certificate of Convenience and Necessity.
