CHESTER, Pa. (AP) - Authorities say one teenager was killed and another was critically injured when they were hit by stray bullets fired at a vehicle near Philadelphia.
Police in Delaware County said an unidentified gunman opened fire outside a corner store in Chester at about 8 p.m. Saturday, hitting a 14-year-old and a 16-year-old.
Both were rushed to Crozier Chester Medical Center, where the 14-year-old was pronounced dead. The 16-year-old victim was listed in critical condition.
Police said a 33-year-old woman inside the vehicle was listed in stable condition with a shoulder injury. Investigators found more than two dozen shell casings.
The city of Chester offered a $5,000 reward for information leading to arrests and convictions. Mayor Thaddeus Kirkland called it another young life lost "to another senseless act of violence."
