YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - A Valley eye doctor is spending the holiday in the Mahoning County jail as he serves out a ninety day sentence for telephone harassment.
Dr. Kenneth Kuhn appeared before a judge in Sebring last week where he pleaded guilty to the charge and was sentenced.
According to a report from Canfield Police, the charge was filed against the 52-year-old Kuhn for an incident on March 12 where his ex-wife told police that the doctor had sent harassing text messages to her.
The police report says Dr. Kuhn was under court order to have no contact with his former wife and children, and was on probation due to a previous domestic violence conviction from last year.
Kuhn, who operates Hometown Vision offices in Boardman and Niles, has voluntarily placed his license to practice on an “inactive” status, according to the Ohio State Board of Optometry.
A spokesman for the board says that orders from Dr. Kuhn's offices are being processed by another optometrist.
People who have not received their products may contact the state board at: optometry.ohio.gov and look for the complaint icon or they can call (614) 466-5115.
Dr. Kuhn is scheduled to complete his sentence in late August.
