BOARDMAN TWP., Ohio - Fans of buffet style dining may be disappointed to hear that the Golden Corral restaurant in Boardman has closed its doors again.

Ken Houck, a spokesman for Golden Corral, says the location on Boardman Canfield Road has not been meeting sales expectations, and was closed as of Monday.

The all-you-can-eat buffet and grill franchise shut down in January 2014, but opened again nine months later under corporate ownership.

Houck did not know how many workers were affected by the closing, but when Golden Corral announced its ribbon cutting in 2014, the company says it would be bringing 100 jobs to Boardman.

He says some of the employees would be getting jobs at other Golden Corral restaurants.

The nearest Golden Corral is located in Hermitage.

Houck tells 21 News that Golden Corral owns the building in Boardman, but he does not know if there are any future plans for the space.
