Salem's Timberlanes to reopen

SALEM, Ohio -
After seven years of sitting vacant, A Salem landmark is set to reopen.
The owners of Timberlanes have been busy renovating the complex, giving it a facelift and a new name, before opening its doors once again.
The revamped restaurant, now known as Boneshakers is set to reopen later in July.
The Timberlanes complex has worn many hats over the years, first serving as a bowling alley before burning down.
Then opening up as a banquet hall, restaurant and motor in for more than 50 years before closing it's doors in 2009 for financial reasons.
Since then, the building has switched ownership.
Salem mayor John Berlin says he remembers the charm of the old place, down to the wallpaper.
"I certainly recall Timberlanes and having dinner there with my wife years ago," said Berlin.
We went inside the building without our cameras to see the renovations.
The new place is fresh a mix of newly remodeled features and Timberlanes' character,
"People who have been in there in the past will be surprised," said Berlin.
The complex, which serves as a hub for food drinks, and a venue for larger events including weddings, is a hot spot Berlin says will help draw people downtown.
"The more things that we have here in our community that we can utilize the better it is for the economy and everyone else," said Berlin.
On top of the newly renovated banquet hall, restaurant another feature also getting a fresh makeover at Timberlanes, the motor inn.
"Well have another place for business people and relatives who are coming to visit for weddings and parties," said Berlin.
Meantime the business is training new staff members and while the new look of the Boneshakers restaurant and bar is a mystery now, employees can't wait to show it off for the big reveal come July 15th.
