A 15-year-old boy is back at a Mercer County juvenile detention facility after trying to escape by allegedly carjacking a 52-year-old woman early Wednesday.
According to state police, the teen escaped from George Junior Republic.
Sometime after 12 a.m. Wednesday, a Carlton, Pa. woman came out of the Sheetz on West Main Street in Pine Township, and found the teen in the back seat of her car.
The woman says she ran back into the Sheetz when the teen charged at her.
She attempted to hold the doors shut, but the suspect managed to get inside and cornered her behind the food preparation counter.
During the time he was chasing the woman, the teen repeatedly demanded that she give him her car keys.
The teen ran out of the store when a Sheetz employee began yelling at him.
The fifteen year old was arrested shortly afterwards by staff from George Junior Republic.
State Police say charges are being filed against the teen.
