MASSILLON, Ohio - Police are asking the public to help them find a man suspected of posing a police officer, who then abducted and and raped a nine-year-old girl in the City of Massillon, Ohio.

Police say the child was walking home from the library Monday evening in Massillon when a man claiming to be a police officer pulled up next to her in a pickup truck and told her she had been reported missing.
Police say he then grabbed her, forced her into the truck, took her to a nearby location and sexually assaulted her. She later walked home.
The child has been hospitalized and remains in stable condition.

Police are circulating images of what they describe as  a vehicle of interest in the case.

Investigators believe that the pickup truck may be involved in the incident.

The vehicle shown in the image is of a Ford F-150 STX extended cab pickup truck between the years of 2004-2008.

The color is “gunmetal grey” or “dark grey” with dark tinted windows, a black tool box mounted in the back and two skull stickers on the extended cab passenger side window.

There are also white stickers on the rear window, one of which may have the text “Ohio”.

The truck also has a bug deflector on the hood and vent shades on the side windows.

Police say anyone who sees the truck should not stop or attempt to initiate contact with its occupants, but contact the Massillon Police Department or their local law enforcement agency.

Massillon Police department dispatch number is (330) 832-9811.
