Suspect accused of assaulting Brookfield Police Chief
Brookfield police say a counterfeit check investigation at a township business resulted in a chase in which the police chief says he was assaulted.

BROOKFIELD TOWNSHIP, Ohio - Brookfield police say a counterfeit check investigation at a township business resulted in a chase in which the police chief says he was assaulted.
Officers were called to Mr. D's Food Fair on Warren Sharon Road Wednesday afternoon where two women had allegedly tried to cash a fraudulent payroll check.
After police took the two women into custody, the car that brought them to the store was spotted in the parking lot of the Subway restaurant.
The driver of the car, Gail Hopson, 23, of Sharon, was taken into custody for an earlier warrant and in connection with the fraudulent check.
Police say a male passenger in the car punched Police Chief Dan Faustino and ran away.
Officers chased he suspect, deploying a taser in the parking lot of an apartment building on Warren-Sharon Road, where they made the arrest.
Police identified as 29-year-old Raheem Brantley, of Johnstown, Pa., who's is now charged with assaulting a police officer, resisting arrest, and complicity.
Gail Hopson is charged with passing bad checks.
Both were taken to the Trumbull County jail.
The other two women, Silka Money Sanders, 27, of Sharon and Jasmine Michelle Austin, 23, of Farrell were issued summons to appear in court, according to police.
