Sears Appliance and Hardware store on Mahoning Avenue in Austintown will close its doors.

A worker at the store confirmed for 21 News that staff was informed last week that the store will be closing in the next few months, although an exact date of closing has not yet been determined.

Since then, signs have been posted outside the store announcing the closing.

Employees may be offered work at other Sears stores, but details have not yet been released.

Workers were not told exactly why the store was closing.

This Sears store has been in business in Austintown for over 21 years.

Right now, customers are being offered 10% off most items, but deeper discounts are expected in the coming weeks.

Fliers were sent out to the public over the weekend announcing the closing.
