WARREN, Ohio - A grand jury has indicted a Warren man accused of leading police on a pursuit through residential neighborhoods in September.
The Trumbull County Grand Jury on Monday indicted 22-year-old Derrick Talley on charges of failing to comply with the order of a police officer and mishandling firearms in a motor vehicle.
Talley allegedly sped away after police pulled his car over on Jackson Street SW in September.
Police say Talley drove through a back yard on Delaware SW and several other streets in the area, dropping a gun from the car along Phillips Street.
The chase, with speeds reaching around 60 miles per hour, continued to the 1200 block of Pearl Street, where the driver of the car jumped out and began running through the yards.
Two other officers caught up with the suspect as he was trying to enter a house on Oak Street.
Police recovered a loaded 9mm handgun they say Talley had tossed on Phillips Street.
Talley will be arraigned on the charges in December.
