Sharon dad sentenced to prison for abusing toddler son

Tyrust Taranto, 33, appeared this week before a Mercer County Common Pleas Court Judge who sentenced him to two-and-a-half to 8 years in prison. The judge credited Taranto for the 465 days he has already been in jail.

MERCER, Pa. - A Sharon man whose wife is already in prison, will also be going to jail for the abuse of their two-year-old son.
Tyrust Taranto, 33, appeared this week before a Mercer County Common Pleas Court Judge who sentenced him to two-and-a-half to 8 years in prison. The judge credited Taranto for the 465 days he has already been in jail.
Taranto pleaded guilty to aggravated assault in October for abusing his son, who Sharon police say had bruises over his body, including his face and genitals.
The boy's mother, 31-year-old Amanda Kline was given a sentence of one to three years in jail for ignoring the abuse. She pleaded guilty to endangering the welfare of children in October.
The two were charged in September of last year after Children and Youth Services paid a visit to the couple's Logan Avenue home.
Four children were in the home at the time and several of them were questioned about the suspected abuse.
