BERLIN CENTER, Ohio - The State of Ohio has ordered a Berlin Township animal sanctuary to correct improper fencing around its animals.
The Ohio Department of Agriculture tells 21 News that Noah's Lost Ark was found to be in non-compliance with several state laws during their last inspection earlier this month.
Some include not having required cantilever fencing, or an electrical fence topping on its cheetah, lion, tiger, and wolf enclosures to help prevent the animals from escaping.
The bear enclosure is also non-compliant because its fence is secured on the outside of the posts, not the inside, as required by the ODA.
The sanctuary is closed for the season, and has until its scheduled opening in May to correct the issues, when another inspection will be conducted.
The property on Bedell Road where the sanctuary is located is listed for sale on a real estate site. However, the realtor says that neither the Noah's Ark name, nor the exotic animals there are for sale.
