Mill Creek MetroParks is now searching for another commissioner.

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Mill Creek MetroParks is now searching for another commissioner.
Mahoning County Probate Judge Robert Rusu says Dr. Robert Durick will not seek reappointment after his term expired on December 31.
Rusu say he will now ask the Selection Committee to reconvene and fill the now empty position.
The selection committee was created in March in an effort to keep the selection process transparent after commissioners Michael Senchak and Scott Schulick resigned.
Interested parties can apply to become the next commissioner until Jan. 20.
They must complete a written Application for Appointment, which will be available at the Mahoning County Probate Court or on its website.
Every interested candidate must file a completed notarized application at the Mahoning County Probate Court no later than 4:30 p.m. on Jan. 20.
Any application received after 4:30 p.m. on Jan. 20 will not be accepted and the individual will not be considered.
Dr. Durick has served on the park board for seven years since January 2010.
Dr. Durick stated in his letter that he has chosen not to seek re-appointment so that he could focus more time on his dental practice and his expanding business interests.
