WARREN, Ohio - The courtroom burst into applause as a Niles man was sentenced on Thursday for molesting a 9-year-old boy.

Michael Peach, 41, was sentenced to 48 years in prison after pleading guilty on April to 18 felony charges including gross sexual imposition.

After handing down the sentence, Judge Ronald Rice said "Now get this defendant out of my courtroom".

The judges words were met with an outburst of applause, not only from people who came to watch, but even prisoners in orange jump suits and handcuffs.

In addition to sexually molesting the child, Peach admitted to other criminal acts against the child's family, including aggravated burglary, aggravated assault, and kidnapping.

Assistant Prosecutor Gabriel Wildman asked Trumbull County Common Pleas Court Judge Ronald Rice for a lengthy prison sentence because of the multiple crimes involved.

Peach has remained in the Trumbull County Jail since his arrest on Christmas Eve.
